Privacy Policy
CalendarDash · Last updated: May 2026
CalendarDash ("the App") is a personal Google Calendar dashboard. This policy explains what data is accessed, how it is used, and how it is protected.
1. Data We Access
When you sign in with Google, the App requests the following permissions:
- Google Calendar (read-only) — to display your calendar events. The App never creates, modifies, or deletes events.
- Google account email address — used solely to identify your account and store your personal settings (e.g. category colors).
2. How Data Is Used
- Calendar events are fetched directly from Google's API and displayed to you. They are cached temporarily in your browser's localStorage to reduce loading time.
- Your email address is used as a key to store and retrieve your display preferences on the server. It is never used for marketing or shared with anyone.
- No event content, titles, descriptions, or attendee information is stored on our servers.
3. Data Storage
- Session cookie — a signed, HTTP-only cookie stores your OAuth tokens so you stay logged in. It expires after 30 days.
- Settings — your display preferences (category colors, thresholds) are stored server-side in Redis, keyed by your email address.
- Browser cache — calendar events are cached in localStorage on your device only, and never sent to our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
The App communicates only with Google APIs (Google API Services User Data Policy). No data is shared with any other third party, analytics service, or advertiser.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- You can revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.
- Logging out of the App deletes your session cookie immediately.
- To request deletion of your stored settings, contact us at the email below.
6. Security
OAuth tokens are stored in a signed, HTTP-only cookie and are never exposed to client-side JavaScript. All communication between your browser and the App is encrypted via HTTPS.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
